This appears to be a transfer of business as a going concern and any dismissal related to a transfer of business is automatically unfair. The CCMA must conciliate and the Labour Court has subsequent jurisdiction to adjudicate. You should refer it tot the CCMA as an unfair dismissal related to a transfer of business to his friend. Do not beleive the story about liquidators until you meet them personally. See a labour lawyer
