Leave is earned and granted in terms of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act. The employer is under obligation to grant the leave within 6 months of it becoming due (6 months after the end of the current leave cycle). The employee can only lose the leave after that time when the employee resigns or is dismissed. Levae cannot be exchanged for cash unless you leave the company. But no, the campny cannot take the leave away while you are still employed.
